With 2011 behind us its time to look forward to a whole new clubbing year. We kick off 2012 with our unique classics concept A JOURNEY THROUGH TRANCE!

A Journey Through Trance is not just any old trance classics night. Its a musical journey from the present day all the way back to the beginnings of trance as we know it. Our previous JTT events have proven to be some of the busiest and most anticipated events in our calendar, attracting the old school trancers and the younger generation alike. Its a time to come together under one roof to relive the musical memories of years gone by.

In the true spirit of keeping this event focused on nothing but the music, the evenings journey has traditionally been supplied by a selection of the finest in up and coming DJ talent, who not only have years of clubbing experience behind them, but who also have a huge passion for the music and the scene. And this year is no different!!

At this time of year we understand that money is tight and were all likely to be feeling the pinch long into the New Year. It’s safe to say that 2011 has been a pretty epic year for OTR events. Bringing you a host of the freshest DJ talent that the world is graced with month after month, as well as an exclusive final farewell set for the legend Matt Hardwick, it seems only fitting that we see out the year with a bang as we present to you no fewer than 4 OTR debutants to grace The Plug decks. Friday 25th November, we invite you to the OTR 2011 End of Year Closing Party our final event until the New Year!

Headlining proceedings, OTR are proud to present Grammy-award nominated DJ and producer, ANDY MOOR. In his illustrious career, Andy has established a distinct, edgy and creative sound that is all his own. This sound, combined with his technical perfection led him to be highly ranked in the DJ Mag Top 100 for the past 6 years. In 2009 he was nominated for the DJ Awards, in 2006 he won "Best Dance Record" at the International Dance Music Awards, and in 2004 he won "Best Trance Producer" and "Best Trance Track". Owner of the highly respected AVA Recordings record label, DJ of the 'Moor Music podcast' and producer & remixer to the star's, Andy has worked with some of the biggest names in the business, including Tiesto, Britney Spears, Above and Beyond and many more! With his latest track Fight the Fire heading straight to the number 1 spot in Beatport’s trance chart, this promises to be a debut set to remember!

Next up is a man responsible for some of the most recognised vocal tracks to have graced our clubs over the last 5 years, RONSKI SPEED. The Space We Are and All the Way are just 2 of many of the German DJ and producers tracks and have contributed to his regular DJ Mag Top 100 rankings since 2004, with his highest position so far a credible 44th place in 2007.

JORDAN SUCKLEY is a man that can do no wrong right now! Recently named as one to watch by MixMag, Jordan’s Sheffield debut set comes on the back of a well travelled summer including a recent tour of Australia and DJ set at Space, Ibiza for Armin van Buuren’s night, Be. With an ever-growing number of produced titles to his name, Suckley’s sound has received support from all the biggest names in the trance game, being featured on such compilations including Cream Ibiza and Armada Trance 100. Delivering sets involving a range of house, trance and tech-trance, Jordans latest live 3 deck EFX remixing are really setting him apart from others.

The 4th headline act not only sees a Sheffield debut, but a long awaited UK debut for Romanian DJ/producer Adrian Ivan aka MR PIT. Signed to Coldharbour Recordings, Adrian’s most high-prolific release to date is Shana from 2008 which provides the perfect example of his tech-filled sound, which has become a permanent fixture in the A-list sets of Markus Schulz and Armin van Buuren.

Providing the support for the evening’s entertainment is Manchester trance night, RONG!’s resident DJ, rising star JAMES RIGBY and OTR resident duo HIDDENAGENDA.

After another amazing warm up last month before Matt Hardwick's farewell party at OTR, were back on track and back by public demand for all you  hard line trance lovers, for a superb out of this world pre party. The Howard Promotions has always pulled out all the stops to bring you the best parties in the UK. Make no exception for this month, introducing our special guest, dj Pandora! This exciting female dj is aslo known as Mayu Noda. She finally hits the decks at Ye Old Howard this September before heading up to Off The Rails. Expect some quality productions and up front sounds from this Japanese artist! Make sure you don't miss out!

Continuing with what may possibly be our biggest year to date we at OTR follow up our historic August event with another massive line up featuring none other than 3 OTR debutants.

Our first debut act and headlining the event is Dutch wonderkid UMMET OZCAN. Ummet plays a wide variety of styles, but he tends towards dirty, driving, trancy and pounding sounds mixed in with a good dose of epic synthmelodies and glitched-out, ball-busting basslines, perfectly suited to OTR’s musical policy. It seems Ummet Ozcan was destined to love EDM, and after spending several years perfecting his skills in a home studio environment, his releases can mostly be found in the highest regions of the Beatport trance charts and are supported by A-list DJs like Sander van Doorn, Armin van Buuren, Tiësto and Markus Schulz. Hits include ‘TimeWave Zero’ (Doorn Records), Arcadia (Doorn Records), Shamballa (Reset) and many more. Ummet is also known for his softsynth and soundbank design for well established music software houses like Rob Papen (Albino, Predator) and Acces Music (Virus).

Another OTR debut for September, and maybe a rather surprising one at that, is UK DJ/Producer BEN GOLD. At just 25 years old Ben Gold is one of the most multi-talented names in the electronic dance scene. Ben combines a highly acclaimed career as a leading studio engineer with that of one of the brightest young stars in the trance scene, playing at some of the world's leading clubs alongside world class DJ's who all regularly fill their CD wallets with his latest works. A versatile producer who has seen tracks featured on leading compilations such as Ministry Of Sound's Trance Nation Harder, Trance Nation Deeper and Europe's biggest dance compilation, Dream Dance. Recent DJ appearances have led Ben all over the globe including notable sets at Sunrise Festival in Poland, The Fresh Squeezed Festival in Los Angeles USA), Garuda at Sankeys (UK), Twisted in Vancouver (Canada) & Slinky at The Opera House (UK). This multi faceted DJ and producer will bring a breath of fresh air to a scene which demands the same high quality and excellence that Ben has regularly achieved even at such a young age, the only way is to the very top.

Next up, and no stranger to the OTR decks, BRYAN KEARNEY, a DJ of almost ten years experience has established himself firmly on the UK and international dance scene. The talented technician’s cutting edge sets contain the very best in upfront club driven music with the emphasis always on energy and the unexpected. A DJ that likes to take risks, do things differently and loves to surprise clubbers across the globe with exclusive edits.

Our 4th and final headline act for the night, and our 3rd OTR debut, is 25 year old DJ, producer, engineer and promoter INDECENT NOISE (Aleksander Stawierej). Completely rapt in energetic and melodic trance sounds, Aleksander often uses more techy stuff in his sets. His fascination of electronic music has started at a very young age and he made his first steps as DJ and producer in 2004. Playing live Aleksander fully uses benefits of technology by using laptop and midi controllers with Ableton Live setup, making his sets special and unique. Indecent Noise has his own monthly radioshow “Noise Sessions” on Trance.fm, Totaal fm, Discover Trance Radio and PureSound.fm. He also hosts “Radio Bosh” which is broadcasted every month in Sunday’s prime time on Afterhours.fm.

Providing support on the night we have talented UK up and coming DJ/Producer, DAVEY ASPREY (Lange Recordings) and OTR resident MIKE BEAUMONT.

OTR presents Matt Hardwick's Final Farewell, Fri 19th July 2011

Fresh off the back of our packed UK Showcase event which saw some of the finest British talent take over the decks, we return on August 19th with something rather special! OTR is proud to announce that we are to host what is sure to be a piece of history, as Matt Hardwick graces the decks with what is to be his last ever set!

On June 18th the sad announcement came that Matt Hardwick would be hanging up his headphones, as other commitments would prevent him from continuing his DJ career. We decided that it was only right that we should be able to give him the send off he deserves after so many memorable sets over the years, and it is only fitting for him to play his final ever set in the city where he started, right here in Sheffield.

Having become Gatecrasher’s resident in the late 90’s Matt has gone on to perform and play at some of the most prestigious events. A truly international DJ, Matt has played all over the world and at some of the biggest festivals, arena events and of course Don Valley stadium on the Millennium. However the majority of us probably remember him for those epic sets, just down the road from us at the legendary Gatecrasher nights at The Republic. How could we ever forget those sets at the Red and Black nights alongside Scott Bond and Eddie Halliwell? Or his sets at the White Parties? And his 4-hour solo set back in 2002, alongside all the other countless nights where he’s packed out the dancefloor? And not forgetting the renowned Resident Transmission CDs that will remain in many a clubber’s CD player for years to come. 
Taking a look back over his illustrious career it is clear to see why he has become one of the most in-demand DJs. As we have followed him throughout the years we have seen him become one of the most consistent DJs; with his flawless sets, effortless mixing and epic tune selection he has built up an incredible fan base, which is a testament to his talent, and as such he will definitely be missed from the scene.

So for one final time lets all get together and show our appreciation for one of the greats of the scene. We ask you to join us and take part in this piece of trance history, in his hometown, for what is sure to be one of OTR’s most memorable nights… The legend that is Matt Hardwick will grace the decks and tear off the roof for one final time on Friday 19th August with OTR at Plug nightclub, Sheffield. A night definitely not to be missed!
